There's nothing wrong with Bogans. A Bogan is just someone who is a bit rough around the edges and perhaps lacks certain social airs and graces. A bogan isn't the same as a Chav as some people sometimes say.

I think the Bogan has to be a bit of a 'dag' as well. Do you have any alcohol branded clothing? VB hat maybe? A Jim Beam dashboard carpet?

Re: Why Australia is Expensive?
A bogan is someone with very little class, education or sophistication. They are the types of Aussies who automatically take it for granted that Australia is the best place on earth. They are the types of Aussies who refer to Brits as ''poms'' incessantly. They like VB, Peter Jackson cigarettes (both in large quantities) and Jim Beam. All of which are gross and not the choices of anyone with any real brain. You will not see them carefully selecting a fine single malt. They drive their utes fast and aggressively and dress badly. They make a point of shaking your hand with the most violent grip possible and employ the expression ''yooos'' all the time. They think AFL is bloody marvellous and the beach is all the culture you could ever need or want. They dress in singlets and shorts constantly and are happy to go bare foot. They are often covered in tattoos.
Pardon me if I don't relate to them. |

Pardon me if I don't relate to them. Albion Park was voted in the top ten Bogan areas of Australia and that pub itself was described as "brutal". http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/n...s/1587309.aspx I had a bloody great night. ....my wife just asked me to add that she, who wasn't drinking at all, was scared shitless all night long. !! Just goes to show what half a dozen Carltons can do for your perceptions of a place. :) |

Pardon me if I don't relate to them. But you make it sound like Bogans couldn't be decent people - and I fundamentally disagree with that. I'm Scottish and I couldn't 'carefully select a single malt'! :D |

if you want cheap veggies, cheese or fruit go to your local growers or farmers markets ;) for example if your local to me ( goldcoast qld ) http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/t_st....aspx?PID=7332 regards steve With less than one second of thinking it is possible to work out that $1 per week from the whole population will produce a profit of $1 billion per year approx (22 million x$1 x52 weeks).A further 1 second will produce that Woolworths sell to approx 40% of the population (your figures).thus they get slightly less than $3 per week to make a profit of $1 bill. Reality is they turn over a touch less than $50 bill per year, net profit is $1.85 bill, this is a touch under 4%. Should you feel you can do it cheaper than this then open up.you are cheaper, everybody shops at your place and we are all exactly in the same position as we are now.You have a large momopoly and a large profit simply because you can get a $ or2 from every body every week. A company makes a good profit do we A) buy shares in this company, settle back, and get our share of these profits in the form of dividends every year. B) sPEND A LIFETIME COMPLAINING BECAUSE THEY MAKE A PROFIT AND CREATE EMPLOYMENT. C)carry on with the illusion of huge profits and then create a new illusion, never buy shares in these companies because it is too risky. Geordie downunder |

Generally the bogan fits a particular stereotypical image. The perception of what actually constitutes a bogan has been shaped over the years primarily by the media; notable especially are television programs such as Channel 7's Today Tonight and Channel 9's A Current Affair . |
