Why Aus? Why Now?!!What If!!!
In March 1988 i met my wife at Sydney airport, whilst working for Coogee beach backpackers. After working our way round Aus for a year we returned to UK.Morgage, kids, dogs, rabbits latter we returned 2 years ago for a 5 week holiday to show the kids all we had seen in Aus. In all the 15 years we have been back all i have ever wanted to do is return to live my dream!!!! But my wife has allways sain no!!
One Monday in September she finally said lets do it!!! That afternoon i had an appointment on the Friday at concept Australia in Dartford.
We are using my wife's nursing skills to apply. Our whole life seams to revolve obout planning our new life down under!!!
But what if we don't get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Am i normal! or mad?

Definitely mad to let your wife stop you going all those years!
But at least you should maybe have an easy route in with her (nursing skills.)

Making the decision is only one of the major decisions in this process.
Unfortunately another major one is made by the OZ government - will they let you in ?
If they say no at least you have a nurse to look after you which is more than most of us have got !

Oh my god that sounds just how we felt after our year there (god we stayed at that hostel in 99). Anyway we returned 4 years ago and have been planning how to get back there ever since. Mind you we aint got nothing on your 15 years!!
So mortgage, kiddie,wedding, 2 guinie pigs, 1 budgie later we are finally are able to go (I too am a nurse) and this is one area where it has its perks as they are always desperate for nurses so the chances of getting the visa are VERY high!! There are a few nurses here and visas seem to come through pretty quick!!
I think its great you are finally getting to go back there and live your dream. Wish you and yours all the luck in the world.
P.S Are you normal? Hmmmm hard to tell but you sound like you've got Aussielitus for sure.......... the only cure is to get ya bums out there!
