I can't weigh up the exchange rate at the moment. Usually LLoyds TSB offer the best rate on travellers cheques but at the moment they are only offering 2.304 but 2.308 on cash. Travelex are offering 2.373 on cash. There just does not seem to be any logic at all. Thing to decide now is do we change some money now or wait to see if it goes any higher??

Ozforex are offering 2.46 at the mo! Why dont you register with them and use it, its pretty good service takes about 4 days to enter your Oz account? BTW the GBP could increase some more this year against the AUS dollar if UK interest rates go up again as forecast.

I just transfered £10K to AU$ and got a blinding amount in the bank. Much more than I thought I'd get.
Very easy.

doubt it would make much difference.....it didn't when the Oz interest rate was recently increased.

The major factor will be what happens with this commodity boom. If its a bubble and it bursts.....a lot of invested money is going to be pulled out of Oz. Here's hoping this happens in about 2 months time and NOT too much before or after.

The last time I looked at Ozforex you only got that exchange rate if you changed a large sum of money. We only change about 2500 pounds at a time, just enough to live on till the next time my husband comes over so I don't think I would get that exchange rate.
