would in be better to buy a firidge washing machine ect here and ship them

If you have it already, bring it. If not buy it here. I recommend the Good Guys for a decent deal.

I recommend the Good Guys too - they always knock something off if you don't buy on credit card. If your fridge is quite new bring it - stick it in the laundry room as a beer fridge It probably won't be big enough / powerful enough to use as a main fridge. Front loading washing machines aren't that common here but as they use less water bring that too. And if you have any gas / electric heaters bring those as it gets cold on winter's nights.

Totally agree bring the fridge, we used ours as a beer fridge, and brought new and its still going after 11 years of being here, have now upgraded the fridge again, so now have 2 beer fridges!!!!
