White and Co

. Doesn't change the fact that White & Co are not registered with the FSA. No need for anyone to rely on what I've said. It's very easy to check for anyone. Like I said before: Go to www.fsa.gov.uk/register/home.doAnyone can check to see if White & Co or indeed any other removal company is registered. If they are not registered they are not authorised to provide insurance nor can they recommend an insurance broker or insurance company or insurance policy.
If you can't find your shipping company but aren't sure if you've made a mistake: The Financial Services Authority also have a helpline: 0845 606 1234

Just a quick update on our experience with Whites. We finally arrived in Sydney in November and our stuff arrived a couple of weeks after that. Another company delivered the stuff (International Removals I think) and they were nice and helpful. We had a few breakages: a couple of glasses; a squashed pan and a broken dish but nothing too expensive. Our plasma TV however, didn't arrive with the rest of the stuff and neither did all of our remote controls (for the TV, amplifier, DVD player etc). We made a claim and were paid out quite quickly for the TV but didn't get anything for the other remotes. Would I use Whites again? On the whole, yes I would. The stuff was stored for 8 weeks so my TV could have 'vanished' at anytime and whilst I was disappointed when the stuff arrived, everyone I dealt with was friendly and helpful and the payout was quick. It's just a shame that one bad egg spoiled an otherwise excellent service. Hope this helps anyone trying to sort out shipping.

White and Co have just finished packing up our house so I thought I would post to let people know how we found them. It all helps when deciding. Well, I have to say they were fantastic. We had two older gentlemen who took lots of time and care with everything they packed. I never felt the need to watch them like a hawk as evertime I bobbed into a room they were working in, they were carefully packing every item. They even handed me a bank card (out of date) which I had overlooked. They were pleasant and hardworking and I felt quite comfortable in what is a very strange situation. Anyway, all packed up now. We fly on 18th to Adelaide, but then move onto Sydney in a month or two. Staying with my Dad till we go. It's cosy!! lol. Whites charged us £3621 including insurance and storage for up to 8 weeks. Can't fault them so far. Now lets see what we find at the other end!!
