whingers!
I have noticed that there are a number of whingers on this site.
I have also noticed that they are all poms, some even use the name pom.
They also appear to be people that spend most of their time on this forum. (there is a forum for those returning to the Uk)
How can they be so offensive to the Australian people and their culture, especialy when most of their time is taken up on the computer rather than out in the big wide world?
The sort of negatives I read are unbelievable.
Just a couple of examples:-
The price of baked beans and no Heinz available. (dont eat beans)
The low cost of fuel, but a long way to travel anywhere.(stay home on the computer)
The cost to rent in North Sydney (an expensive area. so move)
The poor health service. (its no better in the Uk)
The poor wages. ( the cost of living IS lower, YES IT IS!)
The size of people. (If they are happy its up to them)
The unsociable Australians. (I wouldnt wish to socialise with whingers either)
I and many others on this site will not be put off by you whingers.
But we do get fed up with it sometimes.
THINK POSITIVE.

Here here HERE! We found loads of perfectly lovely australians and only one that got up my nose (in Alice Springs). We have been over there 4 fours times for a total of 28 weeks all over the country (except WA) THE PEOPLE ARE HOSPITABLE, CHARMING, FRIENDLY, and do not downgrade the 'poms' except in a friendly fashion. They leave that the the ex poms who are dissatisfied with their new life.
I wish they would go onto the 'returning home to UK site instead'

Make the most of this thread.Come Monday morning, you'll feel the wrath-then they'll be a discussion on some totally irrelevant subject & you'll forget what this threads all about in the first place.

Totally agree with all the comments so far.
What do they think they are going to achieve? Stop people from going? I doubt anyone would actually not leave because of this negativity. All it does is make them look like a couple of whinge bags and upsets people over here that are possibly going through the most difficult decision of their life.
Say constructive things by all means, but leave the derogatory out of it.
Give them a year back over here and I am sure they wil be whinging again about England.

A superb comment Crabtree. I'm new to this site and was quick to notice the whingers. I had been thinking about posting something on the subject myself but it seems you've saved me the job!

If it were clear to stay they would not be posting here.
If it were clear to go then their migration applications would be dead easy and they would not be posting here.
In the middle are a lot of "dreamers", as PB rightly calls them. There are enough of them on this forum to warrant someone moving amongst them with an electric cattle prod.
Dreaming is no crime, nor is their dreaming on this forum.
But I cann't see they do anyone, including themselves, any real good if they apply for a visa. Just clog up the immigration system and slow down applications from worthwhile cases.
Also most on this forum are such a bloody grim lot that they need a good tickle on the backside with an electric lampoon.

If it is such a difficult decision then why try making it?

<What do you classify as a dreamer? Someone who hopes for a better life? Someone who has ambitions for change? Someone who wants to have more money available to them through the strength of the pound?

< How do you judge what is a 'worthwhile case' and what isn't?
People just want to use this site to support each other and share their knowledge - good or bad. Wingers don't share their knowledge they post about irrelevant things that THEY find annoying.

Well, I find whingers a dead loss too.
PB sure sounds like a total whinger at first blanch, but look a little deeper if you can stand having a few cherished fantasies challenged.
Of course, there is never an end to challenging cherished fantasies so choose your own limit as you have done.

You miss my point i think!
I was not saying that people should not post relevant points for discussion on what is good and what is bad.
My point is that many here JUST whinge about everyday life (if thats what they call it).
Life is what you make it and if you believe that all around you is worth whinging about, then it will be. If you think positive about what is around you then you may just see the good bits.
I have lived in England for 47years and there is plenty of thing that could be improved upon here but I dont spend my time looking for them, they are there and we have to put up with it or make a real contribution to change things.
I am not going to Aus for a better life (dream) I am going to start a new life. what I find I will put up with as i do here, without whinging.

As you have this 'mutual admiration society with PB (and to a certain extent Baldbutts) I suggest instead of interferring - without constructive answers - on other threads you have your own little triple moan thread and leave the rest of us who want information alone:lecture: :lecture: :lecture:
