Where do we start?
Hi everyone...Have just come back from a trip to Oz, did Perth/Freo and Adelaide to see where we fancy. We don't currently have enough points to apply under Skilled Migration but know that we may have a chance with the Skilled Independent Regional visa option. Adelaide is an option under this visa but Metropolitan Perth is a no-no.
My husband is currently a lecturer in Graphic Design and Illustration, and would have to use this as his nominated occupation although he would rather find design work when out in OZ. Actually he is prepared to do almost anything to earn a decent crust to keep our little family going. Anyway can anyone give us an idea of areas worth trying, a friend in Oz has suggested Mandurah, in WA as this is a low population area and is up and coming.
Hope someone can help, getting a bit baffled by www.immi.gov.au.

Hi Minky
I'm not sure about SIR for WA especially in Graphic Design. If you go onto the WA government website they have all the details however they do have a skills in demand list and I'm pretty sure Graphic Design is not on there.
We are going to Adelaide hopefully on a SIR and as long as your trade is on the SOL then you should be ok to apply.
