Bloody cold and windy! Had the most unpleasant 5 minute walk in recent years this afternoon, struggling to stay upright into a howling southerly with icy rain stinging my face. And it's barely the end of March!
I used to think there were two big things that SE Aus had over the UK: 1) weather and 2) the economy.
The first has (literally) gone west in the past few years, and judging by recent headlines the second might soon be out the window too

Stunning day in gentrified Surrey, same as yesterday and Wednesday. A little warmer today I think. Guesstimate 18-19c, trees are shooting new leaves and the cows have returned to the meadow, blue skies abound.

Can't remember it ever being as cold in March as it was last night here in Melbourne.
I think it dropped below 7 degrees last night and was quite windy making it feel a lot colder as well.
Gave me a chance to check out my newly installed reverse cycle systems.... the big one worked well and coped easily the smaller 3.2 kw one took at least 30 mins to warm up the two rooms which is a bit of a worry. Looking at even more insulation now, This time the older windows.
