Actually I find the lightening scarier than the spiders, sharks and snakes put together!! (not that you get many creepies crawlies or bities in inner Wesst Sydney) It's cool to watch a big storm but I'm always paranoid it's going to zap me. Didn't a couple of people get zapped in Sydney last year??

Not sure, but it isn't uncommon to talk to people and find out that they have had a close encounter. The only people I remember getting struck in Uk were golfers etc which seems quite likely given the amount of metal they cart arond in open spaces....but,getting the washing out the machine...that didn't seem foolhardy ! I know better now though and I can still feel my big toe burning. !! :scared:

Similarly driving to Brissie seems quite innocuous, and no injury obviously (tyres) but I nearly cr**pped myself nonetheless at the huge explosion right next to my car door....all good fun...I bet theres a hole in the road there though !

Yes and all that was left was a small pile of ashes where they once stood.

An Irish tourist was struck by lightning on Bondi Beach a few months ago.
Bondi Pom might have heard about it.

Let me know if you are ever in my area, i'll head off somewhere else

I always thought I was unlucky, getting bitten by a snake in England ! But if I had seen as many snakes as you, I would be living somewhere else !!

I admit its not an everyday occurence, especially in the burbs, but it does happen
:scared: :scared: :scared:

I've lived here all my life & I would be lucky to have seen that many snakes & that includes around 10 years all up living in rural & acreage areas . I ran one over the other day just down the road from our house, it just wriggled away .

Only what was on the news.

The Mrs had a close encounter with a bolt. One second the ground was glowing green the next she was on the floor.
