and it does depend on where you are..
I interviewed several candidates for an admin role and all the applicants were working on Curtis Island.. (I'm in Gladstone) and they were all getting more than $45/hr - for 10 hr days..now its an LNG development.. of around $70 Billion but not everyone is FIFO and they come back to Gladstone every night
we stuggled to find someone for our role.. as we couldnt compete with that sort of competition. Even though people were getting tired of 12 hr days ( thats including the boat across the harbour).. when we said.. well its more likely to be alot less than that ($30).. you cant blame them for saying.. oh well.. we had better put up with what we have
Having just moved from a TL role where i was on over $100K.. i do wonder how people survive on half that , although thinking about it, i am the sole bread winner so my household wages is probably the same.
Moving to an LNG town has now opened my eyes to the nosebleed amounts some people take for granted.. $1000/day + is nothing special for some roles
