Question What needs to be written in order to certify documents

We need to get some documents certified. We have friends who would be eligible to do this. What exactly do they need to write and do they need to stamp it with an official stamp?

Thanks!!

Well my mate did ours, he's a solicitor with the council. What he did was he signed and dated each page and wrote I certify this to be a true copy of the original. He then suplied us with a letter on council letterhead stating his Name, Position, Address and telephone numbers where he could be contacted.

There are only so many professions that can certify documents like JP,s magistrates, solicitors, and they do have to have official stamp

I would suggest you give your local magistrates court a call. You can arrange to go there with your original doc's & copies (taken by yourself) The magistrate can then stamp & sign the copies as being true copies of the originals. Some charge a small fee but ours were done for free.
