Question What to do with National Savings Certificates?

Hi

I wondered if anyone else had any National Savings Cerificates - Childrens Bonds. My 2 boys have 2 each & I wondered what others had done with them.

I have spoken to them & they advised that they can leave them in - we let them know our new address. When they mature - they will write to us & we sign a form send it back & they will send a cheque in UK £ which can be banked. Just wondered what the position is tax wise. Is there an equivalent type of thing in Oz - and would it be worth withdrawing the money here & then putting it into something when we get there?

Sorry it is a boring one again
