Or go to Kmart and but a set top digital box for $40 thats what we did and the "old " tv works fine recieving digital channels

I wish I had brought more furniture with me - unusual objects and decor. I find it really difficult to get what I want here, especially the heavier antique items.

I'm a tinkerer, I used to make lot of things, dabbled in amateur radio, electronics and science in general. I had a small wooden box into which any spare nut, bolts washers and funny little things were thrown. When I needed something, might have taken a bit of finding but there was always something that had the right thread and was the correct length. The box had belonged to my grandfather and I think he'd started it off around 1890. I do wish that I hadn't left that box behind but it was so heavy.

I'd also worked in a theatre in the sixties, ABC Blacpool, Blackpool Night Out on the telly, had autographs for just about everyone including the Beatles three times over, if I'd kept them all I'd be rich now.

We took literally the whole house contents last time (all our clothes/cushions/curtains/plates etc etc) shipped most of it back and are being sensible this time around......
My criteria is basically if it has real sentimental value (jewellery left by relos), is unique and therefore irreplacable (my Nanna's old nursing chair) or of personal importance (photos etc) it just isn't coming
You can pretty much buy anything you want there - if in doubt have a look on ebay Australia and see. I put a search in for an antique pine kitchen table and lo and behold there was one about 10kms from where we are moving to almost identical to mine. Now I know I don't need to take mine!
Having spent in excess of £10k shipping stuff there and back already this one is on a very strict budget....... All the essentials I thought I would need I just didn't need
As for clothes out there there are great shops - never thought I'd say it but I seriously miss Jag/Sportsgirl/Cotton On/factory outlet malls - don't worry on that front
