My experience with Ozzies is that if the topic or conversation does not involve them, they aren't interested and that will include e-mails! I've listened to hundreds of conversations between Ozzies and it amazes me how they compete by bragging about what they've done or what their kids are doing etc. They never seem to ask about anyone else!

Wow...amazing how Aussies have more selfish people than other countries. We should get the scientists onto it ;)

Exactly. What people forget is that all these white Australians that they are making wild generalisations about are actually Europeans and mostly English at that. ;) Most (white) Australians have rather recent European origins as well. We didn't all come out with the first fleet. eg. My fathers grandparents were Germans/Swiss Germans who came over here in the 1920s. I have other ancestors from Cornwall and Devon that came out during the 1850s gold rush who were miners over there. I have other Scottish ancestors that were pioneers and explorers in Gippsland (Victoria) in the 1830s. I have a rich English and European history behind me and you'll find most other white Australians do as well. Many of them have researched their family histories and know this.

Well now you mention it, it probably is an English trait so can see how maybe the Australians have developed it.

Well, the person could be from anywhere really. 3 days ago I tried my luck and sent an email to a shipping company. As always I got no reply.

So, I called. A nice lady answered the phone, I explained my situation and passed me through to this guy.

From his accent, I could tell this guy was most probably Asian. I asked the questions etc and the required info....

he said, " Ahhhh, Iiii don no."
I said, "Can I please talk to someone who knows?"
he said, " ya ya, but he he no here...."
I said, "OK, no problem, can you please give me his direct line, so I'll call him later on?"
he said, "ya ya, oooohhh, I don know. he no here"

So then I gave up and hung up. The point here is that OZ is a multi-cultural country, no? I think its not fair to generalize cause it could be anyone.

Still remains the fact that I did't get the info. I'll try a different company now, hopefully this time it won't be managed by morons!!!! :banghead:

Cheers
