Go to Logans bay spectacular scenery as well as the whales, also visit Port Fairy a really nice fishing village nearby.

Would also reccomend Port Fairy - if you're staying in the area stay there rather than Warrnambol, its a lovely fishing village with a few pubs / restaurants. We saw one whale last year but very distant - would reccomend phoning the tourist board on the day if you can to see if there has been any sightings, take binoculars and a warm jacket!

Saw them last August is was a wonderful experience they waved at us!! Great videoing. Kids were bored after 20 mins though!

Search on the Visitors Info Centre there is a link for the whale sightings and frequency. You will find lots to do for kids your age in Warnambool.

Have a great time!

CasG is an unknown quantity at this point
Thumbs up Re: Whale watching at Warrnambool

http://www.warrnamboolcam.com/whales.htm - this site gives regular updates.

Warrnambool is the place to go to see the Whales up close....they go to give birth at Logan Beach...and come in close once the calves have been born....they then stay within easy sight for the remainder of the winter.

I agree - Port Fairy is lovely, but if you want to see the whales...then Warrnambool is better.....in fact famous for it.
