Re: Welding jobs
Howya mate,
Don't mean to be pessimestic, but get a sketch on and start looking. Our engineering company started letting people go after Christmas. Lost about 25% of our people with more to prob go in March. Not a nice place to work at the minute....
Anyway... One of the lads was let go last week and rang a heap of agencies. They all told him not to even bother sending a CV as they had plenty on their books and no work coming in. And excellent engineer with plenty experience and good work ethic.....
With Ravensthorpe going under as well, even jobs on shutdowns are filling fast. Believe there is some work in Worsleys outside Bunbury but that might not suit you. You will be competing with a lot of people over the next few months I fear.....

Re: Welding jobs
I have no idea!!
Most of them still think there won't be a recession. (Mr Rudd & Swan amongst them!!)
Then again... they talk about 6% unemployment as being the end of the world on the news... Thats definately not a recession!!
Now I'm confused!!:curse::curse::curse:
A lot of it is coming down to luck. Get on the right job/crew and you are good to go. A bit of bad luck and you is banjexed!
Give it a go anyway. Sure them big airplanes fly both ways......
