I ignored the letter - and then went into moaning as they murdered my flower..lol ( it would not have grown here in Brisbane anyway.. I don't know what mum-in-law was thinking sending that..lol)

Actually I still find it so odd that most chip shops don't have vinegar here. And lemon with everything.. yuck

So true. The house I now live in, used to have three other people (just two now) and about 354 different types of condiments, yet not one bottle of vinegar?!? (that soon changed mind

Go into Kmart - camping section, they sell packets of little plastic bottles with a squirty top ( ranging from about 4inch in size, so are small enough to put in you bag and fill with vinegar).. I never leave home without mine..lol
You can tell a brit a mile off..lol.
Actually I had a lady eyeing up vinegar bottle the other month, on another table.. must have been a brit.. bet she though ooh I must get one of those. Or she could have been an Australian thinking I was a weird Brit

My wife got some chips (or, of course 'hot' chips as we should say) once and asked for vinegar. She was suprised to be given some in a small plastic lidded tub, like she was going to dip them in.
And as for chicken salt...well actually I quite like that.

And if you ask for vinegar in my local pub and eatery places when you have a meal.. yes they will give you some.. but in a small saucer like dish designed for dips such as ketchup, or mayonnaise. Chip shops - I've asked in a few of them, and most ( except local chinese one) have no vinegar. I can't be looking hard enough for the "in" places.
