Re: This weeks Poll from Rooksie!!
I voted Brisbane as that where I'll probably be working. But Id rather live closer to The Sunshine Coast than The Gold Coast.

In August I applied to register to teach with QLD and NSW. NSW accepted me straight away. QLD debited my credit card straight away but I am still waiting for an answer. We need to plan so went ahead with the NSW option. Also in QLD there are strict rules about working in the area of your choice. You score points for time teaching in rural areas. I would therefore find work more difficult that those who had worked hard to increase their points. You should look into the work situation - if it had been down to me I would have moved to the Sunshine coast and risked it. Family were not up for potential povety so I was outvoted for the reason of financial security. Tara |

This month it's Brisbane but last month it was Gold Coast so I'm just as undecided as you Rooksie  :o
I voted for Brisbane though and I'm currently looking into Bulimba, Toowong, Hamilton and their surrounding suburbs (after seeking advice from Mrs Dagboy) :D |

Re: This weeks Poll from Rooksie!!
I love the Gold Coast because it is beautiful and friendly (and my Mum lives there LOL).... it really gets me mad sometimes when people automatically assume that the Gold Coast is commercial, loud, brash & "touristy" - ok parts of it are but "Surfers Paradise" does not constitute the whole of the coastal area! I have been many many times and once you are away from the tourist hub and into the quieter local areas it is a lovely place with much to see and beautiful hinterland and beaches. I love it!:D
I mean - how can you fault these pictures??? http://www.goldcoastsmile.com/resources/untitled2.jpg http://www.goldcoastsmile.com/resour...nd+$281$29.jpg http://www.goldcoastsmile.com/resour...sviewsouth.PNG |
