Very expensive time of year unless you get a good tax refund.
Wow - Burns Beach is expensive. Our rates have just arrived $850 in Tapping.

imagine you bought your property a while ago in an upmarket suburb and you become a pensioner on low income. Despite the fact, that you pay then only 1/2 of the council rates and 25% (max 50% if you are lucky) less of your water rates, it's a big hole in your pocket.

We have just had ours - $525 I think. Our consumption for the last 6 month bill was $6 I think but we dont have a bath, pool or retic for the garden and there is only the two of us.

We are expecting the Shire rates shortly and I do believe I am going to cry.

I was surprised at a water consumption bill of a few dollars and hope the next one is as good.

That's got to be a mistake, or there's something else included in that $2,000. We're also in Iluka and the annual rate is only $1,000.

Thanks for that (Karma sent). When we got the bill last year, I accepted it. But will now query it with Joondalup Council. (There was nothing else incldued - and last year it was an empty block. Now has half-built house on it.)
