I'm gutted - We're going to Perth so I really wanted to see today's programme. Pushed the record button on video on way out to work. Just came home for lunch to discover that I've recorded ITV.

Technophobe or what????

Anyone know if they are being shown later on Sky?

Yep - you missed the point.

It's not a documentary on how to emigrate to Australia from first thought about it, the trials and tribulations of TRA and visa application, difficulties on arrival - whatever.

It's a brief glimpse of 20 families' one week in Australia, their first impressions, their personal (carefully edited) thoughts - and "some" footage of Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.

I am enjoying it . I like to see and hear the families. And this morning it was great to see some footage of Perth (where we are going).

Well done the Larner family.

Women and recorders!!! never leave them in the same room. Got it all set up to record on the way out to work, all she had to do was switch to BBC1, no that's too hard, got 3 hours of bloody cartoon network arrgghhhh!

Don't get me wrong, yes it shows a bit of the places and first impressions, but I think it gives the impression that you can just pack a bag and go. Some informative things would be good that's all.

It's only an opinion.

I loved the shots of Oz but all the flannel that the programme is packed with needs to be cut down. I'm going to be dreaming of the those people spinning them flag boards... lol

I agree with Dave7370, the programme is not really showing the true side to migrating to Oz or the stress in getting there.
12 grand to take 4 pets, is that right, what have others paid?

I haven't seen the programme, but from what I've read on here the pets cost more than the kids.........:scared: Do a search through the forum for something like "Golden Arrow " - thats one of the main shippers for pets and there will be quotes in the threads.

I don't get where they idea that this programme is presenting that it's all good in Aus short working hours, eternal sun and oh look you can buy a £400,000 house.
Why on earth did the bloke today work all day and his wife worked all night? Mortgage of £100 grand? Must have some very expensive hobbies? Just didn't add up.
Oh and I wish they'd stop those silly video's from home from families wishing them a good life and saying how much they miss them THEY'VE ONLY GONE FOR ONE BLOODY WEEK lol.
Going for a lie down rant over

Quite right - well said... I watched yesterdays and it was the same old wining poms. :-) It all seems to be familys. What about couples or singles going or is that not PC enough?

And surely if they show them a $500K house before land anyone is surely going to go oooooh aaaahh i want that and then get pissed off they cant afford it. Same happens in the UK.

Perth looked lovely. I'm off in 2 weeks on my migration and it made me want to go last night.

Most single people or couples without kids are at WORK during the day and thus not watching daytime tv! (Except me of course. )
