Re: WA to QLD
I was joking so tell me why you want to move again ?
I know that now I have done it once, I quiet enjoyed it and would love to live in Sydney for a while.... But am not moving again as it is too much like hard work to be doing to often and Brissie is a nice place to live...
You should try it !!! Maybe we could subsidize your rent by using our imagination ?

Re: WA to QLD
Queensland property scams were famous throughout the 80's and 90's.Hold investment seminars, show them the houses, then sell them for 50k more than they were worth.
The rental income was always guaranteed,by a $2 shelf company that went bust 2 weeks into a 2 year guarantee.
Just googled Queensland property scams, comes up with over 30,000 references.

Although you may think all is well in cairns, it is not. for instance we lost 80% of our work last week when one of the big developers pulled the plug(CEC). Another one (Hedley) has also pulled the plug on a few major projects and many of the smaller builders we do work for (10 to 20 houses a year) are quiet. we have had very little new work come through since before xmas. add this to the wet season being fairly wet, the rise in fuel which means that there are rises in raw materials ( remember we already a lot more for things due to our location) and i think cairns could be on the down turn. houses have slowed down dramatically and are not selling as fast as they were. one big problem is the price of a new 4 x 2 here. they start at around $550,000 and are up to $800,000 in a decent suburb. now that sounds expensive but the fact is with the cost of materials and land it will cost you that to build the dam thing. something will have to give but not sure what can.
