Default WA car registration - can we pay it late ????

Hi all,

A flurry of unexpected bills, etc, etc. Need an extra few days after the expiry date to pay the car registration. Anyone know if we are allowed to do this ? The Dept of Transport site goes on about 3rd party insurance being valid for 15 days after expiry date but doesn't say if there is a penalty for being a few days late renewing. Anyone know ?

We did - about 5 days I think. There didn't seem to be any problem.

Don't know where you live. Here in WA, the Dept of Transport website says this: "From 4 December, if your vehicle licence is not renewed within 15 days after the expiry date, the law prevents you from driving it on the road."

Sounds like you can pay it a few days late.
