Visiting Gold Coast, where to stay what to see ?
Hi
We've been in Perth now over a year and planning a trip to the East, would appreciate some info as we plan to see Syndey/Brisbane and Gold Coast ? Any ideas on where to stay on Gold Coast, couple and a 3 yrs old so something child friendly Any recommendations on what to do/see ?
Thanks - been searching the net a while and its just overload !

We had our fist visit up to the Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago. We stayed in an apartment in Broadbeach. It was a couple of minutes walk to the beach, restuarants and shops. There are loads of apartments in Broadbeach. There are also some great parks by the beach as well.
Our children are older (10 and 6) and we did the usual of Movie World and Sea World. They loved Sea World best. We also went ice skating and went shopping at Pacific Fair.
Most of the time we just spent it on the beach! Am sure there will be more people with more ideas for you. Hope this helps.

We also usually stop at Broadbeach when on the Gold Coast it has a good row of restaurants/bars etc, you can walk to the beach/surfers/casino and its a little less in your face than Surfers.

Hi
Broadbeach is nice..
Your little one will probably enjoy a ride on the aquaduck or adventure croc.. i think they depart from Surfers.
Currumbin has a wildlife sanctuary - popular with the kids.
Seaworld is great for little ones.
some of the theme parks offer a 2 for one pass at the moment, or a multi park pass- which will save you a few dollars.
Beaches are great..

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is super and I definately recommend you pay a visit there. The kids will love the theme parks and you just have to pay a visit to http://www.oreillys.com.au/ you can feed all the parrots and the views are to die for, however, I don't like steep drops and had a panic attack driving up there as it was after the floods and there had been landslides across the road and trees down so you had to drive right on the edge to get around them, we ended up stopping to turn round to go back and the car behind us told us to go on and they would guide the way, phew it was scary but wow was it worth it

Cuddle a Koala at Currumbin Sanctuary
We also love Currumbin Rocks beach. Great for the young kids. They can play in the water without the fear of a big wave washing them away
