My husband and I have just got our 136 visa and are off to Australia in April.
Thing is my parents understandably 'put their head in the sand' with regards to us moving and I guess they secretly hoped we'd be refused or would change our minds about going.
Now that it's 'all happening' and because we are a small family they are seriously considering moving over with us. Problem is I only know about the 136 visa and not on any others.
My mum is 46, my dad 48 - and I'm assuming they're 1-3 years too old for the 136 visa. They are both qualified social workers and I'm hoping somebody has information about any visas they could apply for.
I've heard there is a parent visa but am sure that's £12k :scared: - which is a lot of money, compared to the £1k for a 136 visa.
Can anybody help or advise?
How do you emigrate to Oz once you're over 45?

Thanks for replying but I have to ask who decides whether or not to waive the age limit? How far into the process is this decision made?

You also have to bare in mind that UK and Aus Social work qualifications are not on a parr.I am a qualified SW and had to come in via the Welfare Worker route.
good luck
