I have just had a successful skilled independent visa application and had it confirmed in writing from Adelaide (YeeHaa). I now need to send all the familys passports off to australia house to have the visa's put in them. My daughters passport only has 18 months left on it so I was going to get her a new one, does anyone know if it will be a problem to get the visa stamp put in this passport as it wont be the same one that I photocopied in the original application last november ?
Any info would be appreciated

Hi Chriskitch, Just done the same thing for my son as he only has until April 2005, so thought I would renew and get visa stamped in new passport. He is only 5 and they need renewing every 5 years in the uk anyway. But regards to the 18 months remaining when I got the visa envelope from post office the notes said they would only renew if there was approx 9-10 months left on it. So 18 months would be too long and I dont think they would let you renew it, but get the envelope and read and double check. Good luck on your new life!!!

Also something to note is that the passport office will send your new passports and old ones in seperate posts, they won't come back together.
I would send the old one (passport office will return these) as well as the new one off to have the visas put in, with a covering letter to state that you have just updated them. They'll then put the visa in the new ones.
