Default Using your Australian Passport in Europe

Just seen another question on passports, prompted me.

My British one runs out soon but my Aussie one is valid for another few years.

Can I use this to travel in Europe? We have a couple of trips planned - Germany, Holland, France and somewhere for a cheap laze in the sun.

Has anyone used their Aussie one for these counties?

I've been to Ireland, Holland, France, Italy, Majorca and Spain on my oz passport and got in just fine. I did not have to get a visa, but DID have to queue separately from my brit husband at customs. My passport got stamped, but his didn't.

Cripes that bloody queuing bit, mind us POMs should be used to that! Might be worth the cash and hassle to get my British one back.

Thanks for the advice.
