Default Us Degree Value In Oz && Which Part To Live

Just curious is there any advantage (masters) degree from US and with US experience help me get a job in OZ or it not a difference and will have to fight with local degree holders. I am in techical sector mainly in IT and telecommunications so what are my chances there?

Anyone know which state will eb the best for me?

I am in the final stages of my app through visa class139 and have lodged the bond 3 weeks ago but have not heard anything since then?

Thanks

While international experience is valued at some jobs, I don't think where you get your degree or work experience matters. It's got more to do with how relevant your US degree and experience are to your work in Australia.

The younger Australians (under 30s) at an American consultancy in Melbourne I've worked with in the past have heard of the Ivy League, but can't name them beyond Harvard, Yale, and Princeton! There was this one time I overheard them talking among themselves how the Ivy League was an elite group of colleges, and how difficult it was to get in, etc, I had to keep my mouth shut as I am from one of those they couldn't name! It wasn't like they were going to pay me more respect for what school I had attended. It was all down to your work experience. They might also have "heard" names of some of the top 20 colleges (from US News ranking, etc) or the big state colleges, but that's about it as far as the value of American education is concerned, in my personal experience anyway.

For IT and telecom jobs, most jobs are in Sydney and Melbourne.

All the best on your application.
