Uk Sky Box????
 
Does anyone know of any way to get a uk sky box working in oz???? - i Know it can be done in spain etc with a larger dish but do we stand a hope in hell of getting anything but Foxtel (shite!!!!)

Thanks in advance - i know sky is crap but dear god its better than foxtel!!

No chance - the bendy earth blocks the signals(northern hemisphere vs southern hemisphere). Unless youget a really really really really really really really really big dish on a really really really really really really really long stick.

I would imagine that the satellite *we* can see here would not use the same codes and therefore even if you got a signal it couldn't be unscrambled. Foxtel/Austar transmits Sky news anyway, if you can bear to watch its amateurish presentation!

Mind you hoping to not need telly as life "should" be great so no need for good telly yeh!!!!!!! - is that wishfull thinking??? or denial or hope!!! i dont know but life in UK is SH*T so can only be better!!!!! haha

I was told you could use your sky box and get it decoded, but not sure if they ment to watch Sky on. Will try and find the tread which had the web address on

I have a program called Democracy Player, which scans new release feeds for my favourite shows (UK *or* US) and automatically downloads them for me as soon as they come online. It's the wave of future ...

Right then I demand a refund :mad:

We got sky+ after specifically asking them if we could use and recieve sky in oz.
Their technical department assured me it would be possible!!!

They'll tell you owt if it means a sale :(

Dish sizes needed UK for ex-pats. As you can see Australia is WAY to far to get anything at all. ie not on the map
