No, and just as well as I don't think anyone would pay for the standard of tv you get here :(

There are no TV fees here for normal free-to-air TV. With adverts every 10 minutes, the broadcasting companies make a motsa without the fees. A two hour movie takes about 3.5 hrs to be shown here.

Be prepared for a load of crap. The ABC on friday night is about the best you are going to get.

Pay tv is the same the world over. Repeats after repeats.

....... but I'd rather watch the repeats of shows I like or the oldies that I have not seen in years, than watch the crap on free-to-air.

I think the TV is OK actually <cue usual pissing contest>.

Lots of live sport for free, some good stuff on the ABC and better stuff on SBS.

Don't watch much of it but I can usual find something to amuse.

The people that complain are usually the ones that expect to be entertained 24/7 by the 'Mogadon For The Masses'.

I don't think the tv is crap, maybe if you like Eastenders etc then to you it may be, but if you enjoy CSI and a lot of other American programmes then you'll be fine. Even have some British ones on occassionally ;) But YAY no Eastenders

It's all OK though - because they love the Bill out there! Can't get enough...

My Mother-in-law couldn't believe it when I told her about ol' Reg Hollis slashing his wrist because he was getting the sack...

They should pay us to watch the TV. Its BAD and the crappy Strata arial connection that we have to plug in to makes it look like its snowing all the time :(

Thank god for thebox.bz - especially with all the bad weather we've had.

They have it on Foxtel. Thought I'd escape the continual stream of TV misery when we moved to OZ but the wife soon sniffed it out on pay tv:mad:. Its about six months or so behind the UK. You can also watch all of the other UK soaps on pay tv (at varying periods of delay) if you are a glutton for punishment.
