Question trying to trace old friend

I'm trying to trace an old friend of my Dad's who came over to Perth in 1954. dad's coming here for a visit with me and would love to find out if his old mates still around! Has anyone any tips on how to go about it please?
I've tried Friends Reunited as they now look at where you used to work as well as schools but no look there.

If the friend came over in 1954 they could be 70 by now. The local cemetry might be more likely.

You're right about that My Dad did think of the possibility that his mate might not be around anymore as he'd be maybe 75 by now!
Thanks for the suggestions,I'll give them a try.

Just trying to emphasise a point. I couldn't imagine anyone born in 1954 never mind emigrating as an adult then being on Facebook.

Hey, don't underestimate the golden oldies, I was born before 1954 and I'm on Facebook, and next week I'm doing the airkix, (floating in a windtunnel) am currently working my way through my bucket list

regards Dizzy

my mum was born in 1950-she is on facebook-hasnt got a clue how to use it-but she has a photo on there!!

Would he have been a ten pound pomme? Maybe there are some records of this somewhere. Have u tried puting his name in the local papers?

good luck
