Re: The true picture
$78k does nothing in Sydney. I mean you can live there but certainly don't expect luxuries. It won't get you a decent house for sure...of course it all changes if there are two people working.
Remember - $78K is assuming 5 days a week work. YOu are better of getting in touch with people in same profession and get some idea on how the work is at the moment in Australia. Good luck. |

I do have financial obligations in UK which also saps our Oz spending power though! |
Re: The true picture
Little demand for skilled tradesmen in Sydney when tupwards of a thousand Irish tradies are entering the country every week on WHVs. These boys will take $100 a day laboring jobs as well.

Nope not at all, in our apartment block there was one flat with 6 or 7 of them rotating in and out at various times. Work during the day and p!ssing up every evening till the early hours, thats not stereotyping thats reporting fact. I don't have a problem with it, they are young, no obligations so why not just enjoy it.

So U tar your whole nation with the same brush!!!
My point, which is valid, is that those who come over here labouring on a WHV enjoy their times off which mostly involves getting batfaced at the local boozer. I stress again, just in case in your ire you missed it, I have no problem with that and its what a lot of young guys do when working on a holiday. So don't get all uppity with me when you are moving away from the facts and have experience of neither environments...I happen to do so of both!! |

Let me start by saying hello to everyone ,now let me bore you with probably something that's been asked a million times on here ,i have been thinking of moving to Australia from Scotland .just now its just that thinking, my partner is a plasterer and has been doing his job for 18 years i have filled in a couple of those online visa forms i know they are just a rough guide to what your score will be but we scored 120 i,m all for trying for a visa if we get it selling our house and using that money to move ,live of ,and rent :thumbsup:thats me!! my hubby likes the idea but is far more cautious his main worry is finding work as a plasterer so my question to the good people on here is is there alot of work for plasterers and what sort of weekly wage can he expect to earn would you recommend the move and where :wub:sorry alot of questions but i would be grateful for some answers xx
I know, historically, it has been easy to get a Visa for such types but times have changed. This may influence your decision. |
