We are about to claim on our travel insurance for a 3 day delay due to the volcanic ash. We were stranded in UK and although we had family to stay with decided that we had had enough and booked into hotels for 2 nights. We are just waiting for out credit card statement so we can put exactly what to claim. Our policy specifies we are covered for delays occuring from natural disaster and eg was earthquake, one would lump a volcanic erruption into this group. I will let you know the outcome. We were insured with AAMI. I think a lot of polcies now say natural disaster rather than act of god.
