yep agree im with lloyds tsb - and i just give the branch a call, no probs! certainly not all this hassle

But I think with Halifax you could only make a transfer the maximum of 25,000 pounds. We had to write a letter to the bank authorising them to make the transfer. Once they received it, called the payee to confirm, the money was in my account the next day.
