I have managed to get contact details for every employer I have had over the last 20 years (about 6) and so need to draft up suitable references for them to put on company headed paper and sign - problem is what sort of content is needed. I was going to confirm how long I had been in each Job and a rough outline of the types of stuff I worked on (I am an electrical fitter).
Any advice appreciated please.

from what i remember they need to put down tasks you were asked to perform,how long you worked for em and tools used etc

Do a search. There have been hundreds of posts regarding this. We got some really useful info.
