Too old to try?
#46
Does anyone have any opinions about a family of 4 making the move to oz when the parents are 44 soon to be 45 this year, 43yrs old and the kids 16 and 14. Is it really too late to try? Hope to hear from those who left it a little later in life before they took the plunge.
We were the same age with kids of 16 and 10 when we came over. We made our eldest go back to school to do years 11 and 12, best thing we did as he made some great mates and they still are 5 years down the track

Hi Fiona,
I would get going now, as soon as the 16 year old hits 18 years old she will need her own visa. There are vacancies for nurses in Aus but you may have to be prepared to wait for a position in your speciality to come up. But there are great agencies out there dedicated to getting nurses jobs in Australia. But 2 years is plenty of time so they is no worries there. But you should definitely not worry about your age.
