Non-existant roads is often due to Aussie inability to join the gap between two areas that would have taken miles off your journey or they put ghost roads that are supposed to appear in the refedex and then never build them.

That's not just round our way then! Could cut 10 mins off my journey if they built the 100m of missing road......

I could half my journey to work if they joined the dots up but they insist on funneling everyone on to the same roads then moan and groan about the crashes and delays.

I am currently trialling iGO8 software running new maps (V15) -- even has Eastlink on it
So far, it is streets ahead of my navman ( bad pun intended
)
It warns of all the latest school zones and speed cameras and only warbles at you IF you are over the speed limit.
The only annoyance so far is that it chimes before every announcement and it starts to grate after a while..... time for a bit of a look around inside the code I think

As Imentioned before, I bought the Tom Tom XL Australia maps ver 7 from a guy on Ebay. He's a certifed re-seller and the map SD card and packet have bona vide Tom Tom stickers etc,.
Price was right and backup service by email to Oz is as fast as the timeline allows and the guy has put in some extrat time sorting out my mistakes.
Dont suppose a link to him will be allowed on here so if anybody wants the info...PM me.
