Re: Tips for getting a rental - Perth
We are having a nightmare finding a rental, like many others we have never rented in the UK so no references.
However, we have both got jobs, good credit histories, plenty of id and cash in the bank.
Last application we offered 3 months in advance and $20 p.w over the advertised rent
No Joy!! We have been here a month and my cousin's spare room is getting smaller and smaller.
Can anyone suggest anything???

Re: Tips for getting a rental - Perth
Thats good to know as we have no jobs lined up as yet. We have savings so can show a bank statement. Can the turn around be quick then?? We have a holiday home for 2 weeks and hope to find and secure a rental during that time, in your experience would you say this is possible??
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
Any utilities bills you may currently have (to prove payments etc)
Any info on your UK house sale etc.
Any recent/current bank statements.
Also if you know of anyone in Perth who can write you a reference of character etc (if you do not have employment) would be a lot of help.
Before you leave the UK try and look (if you do not already know) of areas you are interested in living and contact local agents in that area.
The internet is great really to look at homes, areas and types of homes you would like to rent as once again you can see your budget.
Any help on areas in Perth you are interested in just let me know and I will be glad to help.
Good luck.

Our reference when we first looked for a place was from the week long holiday home we rented.
