Default Tips for filling a rental..

Hello everyone,

We're very close to moving into a rental,(Buddina,any info would be nice,schools etc) and wondered if anyone had hints or tips in how and where is the best way to start making it look like a home?? ie furniture,TV's,broadband etc any comments would be a great help

PS got ourselves a 4x4 today!! he he + THEY HAVE BEETROOT OVER HERE ON THEIR BIG MACS!!! and and!! real hillbillies ( Cleteus off the Simpsons!! they drive big noisey V8 rust buckets!) this place is sooooo cool

They have beetroot in everything, and before long your plates, worktop, and fridge will be stained a lovely purple.
Good if you like beetroot.

You can hire your electricals and furniture if you don't want to spend on them instantly, although your local Retravision is worth checking out before you do so. I could have bought a washing machine by now given the amount I've spent on renting one, but ours is on the ship and will be here any day now (I hope)

You could also rent some furniture at somewhere like www.rentalsrus.com.au. It means you don't have to rush out and buy all the big stuff. Rent for a couple of months and you can get to know the shops etc before buying.

One little tip that we learnt the hard way is to make sure you have air conditioning in your rental. There was none in ours and we had to ask for permission from the landlord if we could fit a portable one. It sound like your having fun so far. That's great.
