Default timesheet issue at work

what do you do, when submitting a timesheet at work these days??!!

I mean, I can hardly put down as my 8 hour day:

"1221-12 constant and intermittent interruption to project x for regular browsing of British Expats for update and reading. Approx half my time."

can I ? what do I do. The other day I realised I'd done sod all and had no way of explaining where the hrs had gone...luckily I wasn't asked.

I spend far too much time on this forum.

It wouldn't be so bar but I am mega busy at the moment and very aware of the work stacking up on my desk.

I tell myself I will lay off the forum when I have got a decision. I also previously told myself I would stop using it until I got a decsion. It hasn't worked.

Ho hum, going slowly mad...

Look Guys,

I'm a consultant working for a commercial Insurance firm.

The permies arrive at "08:00" (must take ages to get up in the lift as I never see them before 09:15).

They then sign on to the various footie forumns only taking a break for lunch. Said lunch apparently lasts for 30 minutes so I can only assume they've found a hole in the space time continuum.

Lastly they leave at "17:00" after attending some hour long nightly mass team meeting that I'm unaware of.

Personally I don't see a problem with my timesheet!!!

(P.S. Anyone who says Aussies take it easy should come here)

As my opposite number in a neighbouring European market said to me: what are we supposed to do after Tuesday lunch, exactly, Don?!

Cheers - Don

With my departure imminent I've given up worrying about time sheets. I do try and work up till lunchtime but it is getting harder and harder. I think my total work hours are now reduced down to 2 a day.

I'm self employed and it gets more difficult the closer we get to going to keep up enthusiasm!
As for the forum, how many hours do you have to be on it per day to be a qualified "addict"?

I m not allowed to surf but nip on at lunch, have broad band at home, which means less decorating and house work being done but who cares.

I keep trying to restrict myself at work but it is all too easy to have a quick look then spend 1/2 hr here and there. To be honest when work is slack I spend more time researching Oz than anything else (don't tell my manager) My staff even have shown an interest as to what is happening to everyone on the forum!!!!

Going away for 4 days at the weekend how will I cope without the net????????

Oh well time to relax before the meds next wed

As I usually put on my timesheets "General Menial Tasks" or "Taking the piss out of Sales Directors stupid ideas" or "Checking my pulse to see if I need an ambulance" (really), when I put down 8.5 hours of "Surfing the Internet" for 3 days running, nobody blinks an eyelid. The amusing thing is, the boss thinks I am taking the piss & just laughs. I told him weeks ago I was going to Oz & I still think he's sure I won't leave.

I'm really looking forward to doing some real graft when I get to Oz.

My current company has a lovely 'Surf control' screen that pops up when ever I try to come on.....

Probably just as well really
