Timeout?listings magazine for Melbourne
can someone in melbourne please point me in the right direction of a Timeout type magazine or website with listings for the melbourne area please.
anyone know of any clubby type nights in the city or can you point me in the direction of where i can find for myself.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any single ideal site Timeout style for Melbourne for events. I would personally use these sites, though others might have better suggestions:

it has a wide range of listings for Melbourne pubs, clubs, gigs and all sorts of other things.
The clubby type nights in Melbourne are pretty much the same in any major city. Fridays and Saturdays are always big. Thursdays are good too and various nightclubs and pubs have their own special little nights during the week.
The city centre Southbank have plenty to offer but the inner suburbs and areas surrounding the CBD have a lot to offer.
One thing to remember about Melbourne is; the best known places are rarely the best. Beat magazine is a bible for many as it has extensive listings on what's happening and where to go.
