Things to do in Brisbane,
Okay we are planning on relocating, originally we thought Melbourne, but are now considering Brisbane, mainly because of the weather, or are we being shallow only going to Brisbane for the weather.
Well Some one said it is like Benadorm, now I have never been to Benadorm but I know that it has a bit of a reputation can some of you Brisbaners, give me an idea what things are around this area, and also if any one has any info on Melbourne

Brisbane is NOTHING like Benidorm! The City has been built along side the Brisbane River, not on the coast. There are loads of riverside bike/walking paths, parks, picnic areas, cafes and restaurants. It's a very trendy, vibrant city. Beaches.... depending on which suburb you live in, you are only about 30 mins away from golden sands!..north side - Sunshine Coast, south side - Gold Coast. Queensland has a sub tropical climate, even in the winter I can probably count the amount of times I need to wear a warm jacket on one hand! Great for families who enjoy being outdoors. We chose Brisbane because of the weather...is it shallow...no way not when you've 'suffered' 30 years of British weather!! Best of luck whatever you choose to do.

Thank you everyone for all your comments,
we have a young family and I just want to be able to enjoy the out door life style that OZ has to offer that is why I am keen on Brisbane,
we are not sure which areas to look at to be honest we are still in the early stages, and can not afford to take a trip over to get a feel for the place so are planning on just researching and seeing which is best, if any of you have any ideas for a young family on location ie good schools easy access to CBD and to beaches that would be very much appreachiated
Baby catcher I will go and read your thread now
thanks again every one

Hi there
Although we have not been in the summer time, we did spend three weeks there last year and we loved every minute of it. I have been to Benidorm several times and I can not see a resemblance at all, but that is my opinion.
Have a look at
www.ourbrisbane.com.au
it might give you a few more ideas, good luck with your decision.
