Funny as. Poms stink, Aussies don't. Remember, where do you hide money from a pom, under the soap, never a truer word said. Got in a taxi the other day in Sydney, driver stank, asked "are you a pom". Said yes, how do you know?

AHA! The trap is sprung, I wonder if you are showing your true colours and are infact not an expatraite at all! If so 'Very Happy' then you must be a WAWSBOECF or Whinging Australian Who Should'nt Be On Expat Chat Forums, or a WOz for short perhaps.......

"pommy birth"

Does it actually say you were born on Pomland?. If it does, its a typo and you are actually Polish.

Clearly not and clearly Tesco isn’t intending to any time soon….

Being this has been my first posted thread on this forum I have been reading with much interest the comments, debates, pros and cons as to wether it would be a good thing if they came down under. There have certainly been contributors who think that any kind of foreign competition in Australia would be a bad thing. In fact I would go further and say that some people are not exactly, (how do you say) expatriate. Not just on this thread but on the rest of the forum as a whole….

Oh well not to worry a bit of protectionism isn’t a bad thing, if we had had a bit more of it back in the old country then maybe there would be more British owned industry left perhaps?

I think that in the next 5 years you will see more companies coming down under simply because of the population rise, new arrivals will demand more choice, and foreign companies would be stupid not to expand down under. Not just in the grocery business either. Australia at this very moment in time, I believe is starting to go through a period of big change. Population, housing affordability, immigration and much more is going to upset some sections of the great Australian public who don’t like change, expatriates included. But I think more choice is a good thing so bring it on!

Now what shall my next thread be about. I know just to get even more interest I will call it “IS M & S COMING DOWN UNDER? AND WHY DO ALL AUSTRALIAN'S SMELL AND HAVE A FUNNY ACCENT?” Whoops sorry only joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (My wife is going to kill me now after reading this!).

People like rumours, this one comes up regularly.Any information on a company will be given in an annual report.I would think constant disclosure rules in the UK would be much the same as OZ,using IFRS as a guideline

Go to the company website and read media reports or stock x notifications. They will be in shareholder services, shareholders are sent regular updates, companies report updates virtually daily.
