Afraid its a bit hard to chill as the temp here is still over 30 degrees:eek: Anyway, in answer to your question. Preferibly I don`t like anything over 30 degrees unless its for a holiday or a short peiod of time. Therefore just trying to assess if any parts of Aus don`t go beyond 30 degrees (I think Tasmania doesn`t)

I arrived in Perth in May and have travelled so far all the way up and over and down the east side... so far I have found Australia coldish! :rofl: (with the exception of when we went to Darwin... oh and Katherine... Mount Isa was pretty hot too)..

By the time we got to Sydney a few weeks ago (and spent 1 night in the Blue Mountains) we had had enough of feeling chilly and are now in Byron Bay and going back upwards towards Noosa... am looking forward to the time that i complain that it is far too hot! :p

By way of explanation we were in Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore for about a month before arriving in Oz! So it all seemed a bit cold when we arrived in May! Specially coz all we had were halter neck tops and sarongs! LOL! Not good for June July and specially not good for August... Hurray for Target I say! hehe!

Disclaimer: Husband and son were not included in the general comment about only owning sarongs/halterneck tops..

Tassie does, it's not constantly but it does. It also goes very cold. What's the coldest you want? Trouble with houses here, whilst it may feel mild outside, it can appear freezing indoors in winter. I think you're looking in the wrong country for moderate. Can't think of anywhere that ticks all boxes - places that are moderate in winter, tend to get damned hot for a time in Summer.

Tasmania too out of the way for me. Coldest I want well I`ve applied to Canada so that gives you some idea but obviously -10 not ideal either. Saying that NZ would probably give the right balance between hot and cold.

Well, the only places in Canada you will find that don't go below -10 are in the BC lower mainland or the southern areas of Vancouver Island. The rest of the country gets both very hot and very cold. Well, with the exception of Newfoundland which just gets very cold in winter and only less cold in the summer. www.theweathernetwork.com for Canada's weather.

New Zealand sounds like it might be ok for you, although it does get cold there. Have you thought about Western US states like Oregon or Washington? They are temperate and both have some really beautiful scenery.

Know Canada well and its temperatures. BC would be fine climate wise but its property prices!!! Parts of the US have ideal tempertaures but practically impossible to get residency so that is no good. Probably NZ the best overall option in regard to English speaking countries.

Err, can somebody give me the temperature and moisture content for Central America at 5am every morning, I am thinking about moving either here or somewhere, cant be arsed to use informed web sites, rather look for a row on here.:lol:

jajajaja me too, but anyway its hot sticky and bloody horrible unless you like that type of thing.

Brisbane weather is much different to Perth - far less extreme, cooler in summer, warmer in winter. Perth's weather is a shock to the system after going back after spending a long period in Brisbane. Give me Brisbane over Perth any day, that's my opinion anyway, I hate the cold. Dubai is certainly giving me the heat I desire.

And I am going in the opposite direction from Dubai to Sydney, I yearn for cold in the winter!!!! It's ridiculously hot here in June July and Aug but it's coming down now...glad you like the heat...:thumbsup:

Oh no! You'll be going to the Australian summer and will have to wait another six months or so for the cold. Never mind, it'll come around fast.

My kids are enjoying the heat too, swimming every night, they were in our friend's pool until 1am Friday morning.

New Zealand is very temperate, depends on which part you choose. Christchurch can get up to high-30's in summer and well below freezing in winter. It also rains a lot in all parts of NZ. Also the quality of the house build is worse than Australia, the condensation sluicing down the inside of the windows has to be seen to be believed! Mouldy carpets anyone?

jajajaja think you mean +30. Anyway I know the climate of NZ for me would be appealing but constantly hear stories of the poor build quality there. This was first mentioned to me many years ago by a friend of mine who is from NZ. Seems like tiled floors could be the answer to carpets but that would make it colder in winter though.
