Re: Temperature in Australia
Have a look on Wiki for the towns you are looking at.
Most have temperature / rainfall charts. |

I don't recommend anywhere in W.A.
Most summers can get to 40c + Not quite right, almost anywhere along the south coast of WA tends to be quite pleasant. Augusta is always cool in the summer, I dont think Busselton has had anything over 34c this year. Go inland though..... and you'll fry ! |

Re: Temperature in Australia
I reckon that wherever you live you will get a few weeks of unbearable weather be it warm or cold. We are in Brisbane and I think that it is pretty good weather wise. There are only a few weeks in the middle of summer that are really really hot and unbearable, and then only a couple of weeks in winter that are freezing usually, so that makes for around 10 - 11 months of really nice weather.

Same in Perth. A couple of really hot, sticky weeks in summer and a couple of really cold wet weeks in winter. Otherwise nice.

If for a change you can give some helpful advice out it would be nice, instead of your normal sarcastic juvenile banter which seems to help nobody:sneaky: |

Nice to hear from you again:) And I think if you bother to look above, I stated I do know Perth well and lived in Morley for an extended period of time but was not too impressed with the summers there. They are similiar to where I live at the moment and this is something I want to get away from.

Entertaining though  Well he makes me laugh :sneaky: In answer to your question though, I'd say no, there's no where with those temps. Some days in Summer everywhere can be damned hot and most places in Winter can be piggin cold.
Anyway, read that certain towns in south Vic have moderate temps but also read they also get a well know hot wind in the summer months. |

If you lived in Perth then I would have thought you would know what the climate of Australia was like.....so why the question? Just trying to help:) Just because I was 6 months in Perth why would I know exactly what the climate was like in Sydney or Melbourne? I assume it would be the same hot and sunny but that is just an assumption as I am sure not all of AUS is the same. It may surprise you when I was there I didn`t spend everyday reading the weather!!! I can find all the info about the weather in AUS quite easily on the internet but as this is A FORUM WITH FREE DISCUSSION its good to get personal opinions from people that actually live in the country. It may surprise you Mr.Grayling but THIS IS WHAT FORUMS ARE FOR!!! |

You may not realize it but the world is still quite a large place.

Good lord, chill! As you say, it's a public forum. To be honest, what one person considers a moderate climate, another will consider it unbearable. I don't think there's anywhere here that's moderate but that is only my opinion. What I consider perfect, other people will come on and complain how hot it's been  What do you consider hot? Do you like humidity? Do you like a dry heat?

Re: Temperature in Australia
I arrived in Perth in May and have travelled so far all the way up and over and down the east side... so far I have found Australia coldish! (with the exception of when we went to Darwin... oh and Katherine... Mount Isa was pretty hot too)..
By the time we got to Sydney a few weeks ago (and spent 1 night in the Blue Mountains) we had had enough of feeling chilly and are now in Byron Bay and going back upwards towards Noosa... am looking forward to the time that i complain that it is far too hot! :p By way of explanation we were in Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore for about a month before arriving in Oz! So it all seemed a bit cold when we arrived in May! Specially coz all we had were halter neck tops and sarongs! LOL! Not good for June July and specially not good for August... Hurray for Target I say! hehe! Disclaimer: Husband and son were not included in the general comment about only owning sarongs/halterneck tops.. Em x |

Afraid its a bit hard to chill as the temp here is still over 30 degrees:eek: Anyway, in answer to your question. Preferibly I don`t like anything over 30 degrees unless its for a holiday or a short peiod of time. Therefore just trying to assess if any parts of Aus don`t go beyond 30 degrees (I think Tasmania doesn`t)

Tassie does, it's not constantly but it does. It also goes very cold. What's the coldest you want? Trouble with houses here, whilst it may feel mild outside, it can appear freezing indoors in winter. I think you're looking in the wrong country for moderate. Can't think of anywhere that ticks all boxes - places that are moderate in winter, tend to get damned hot for a time in Summer.

Re: Temperature in Australia
Well, the only places in Canada you will find that don't go below -10 are in the BC lower mainland or the southern areas of Vancouver Island. The rest of the country gets both very hot and very cold. Well, with the exception of Newfoundland which just gets very cold in winter and only less cold in the summer. www.theweathernetwork.com for Canada's weather.
New Zealand sounds like it might be ok for you, although it does get cold there. Have you thought about Western US states like Oregon or Washington? They are temperate and both have some really beautiful scenery. |
