Default Temp Working Visa

Hi all,

Hope someone can help, I am in the first stage process of getting my skills assessed and have been offered a job this March/April. Does anyone know if I could go to OZ and do the job on a Temp Working Visa whilst my application is being processed, If so would the time spent doing the job count towards my 2 year wait for permanent residency.

Sorry to throw this one in but I am on a course at the moment for the next 4 weeks and time is of the essence especially with all the course work we have.

Thanks

Dave

The general principle is that the last visa granted supercedes and cancels any other one you have.

So you could work on a temp visa and when you obtain a skilled one it would cancel the temp.

I think you mean the 2 year wait for citizenship ?
As it stands today no time on temp visas qualify toward Citizenship.
The qualifying time may get changed this year to 3 years by the way.

Please put your thread on the immigration forum here.....

as there will be more specialised knowledge to help you.

When you do specify which visas you are referring to as that will be relevant.
ie which type of temp visa / which type of skilled visa.

Good luck to you.
