Hiya...

I posted a similar post on here about 5 months ago and unfortunately few people responded to it!!

Just thought i'd drop you a line regarding this, coz my OH also works in telecoms!! He works for EVE in the UK. They have contracts for Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2, etc!!

Is this similar to your line of work?
Is it microwave/PCN??

We've been advised to wait until we arrive as it's pretty difficult to find jobs in telecoms through the net!!

We're not in Oz yet, however we have friends there and jobs do appear in the papers every now and then, but it seems that jobs in this area are mainly heard of through word of mouth like here in the UK!!

Hope you find something soon!!

I work for a company building a fibre network for the Victorian Unis and our Programme Director reckons anybody with good technical expertise will find a job. He's been here 15 years so he should know.

Have you tried the jobsites.

Telstra is retrenching at the moment but if it goes the way of the UK these people (and others) will be picked up by the new players.

Do you fit the Victorian skills in demand?

Try for STNI?

if you are looking for IT/Telecoms work then there is plenty in the QLD/Brisbane area at the moment. Look on the following websites;

Thanks for the reply

Most of my work experience is in installing the cables or fixing them copper or fibre,I think most of the work seems to go to the contractors so I am just going to concentrate on getting there first. Hope every thing goes ok for yous
