Question Teenage Daughters

We are hopefully moving to Melbourne end July on a sponsored working visa (awaiting results from medicals!!). I have 2 teenage daughters age 16&18 who are in to alternative music (goth/punk style) Will there be an alternative scene in Melbourne for them, it's a job to persuade them to come so i'm hoping they will find people with same interests! :scared:

Theres still a good few Goths & punks wandering around here in Melbourne so I'm sure there will be plenty of clubs with alternative music for them.

Tell them to check this site out.

Absolutely there will be! Teens all over the western world get into what their peers do and melbourne is a significant major city in OZ, so be more of that scene there than in some of the smaller cities.

If it's a "sponsored working visa" then presumably you mean it's a temporary visa.

Have you got a plan in place to get permanent residence and do you realise that if your daughters are no longer dependent at that stage (in DIMA's opinion, not yours), they will be refused permanent visas even if you manage to obtain one?

Yes I do realise about dependency, I have obtained job as a psychi nurse in large melbourne hospital on temp visa, and we will apply for permanent residency after 3 months via my work place and I have been told by my new employers that this will accelerate PR process. My youngest will go to highschool and my eldest will be applying for Uni to commence Jan 07 and will consequently be a 'dependent'.
