i was concerned about a small (~5000 GBP) personal pension fund left in the UK and what to do on my tax return, so i called the ATO who said not to worry about it if on a 457-they aren't interested.

also i was a little concerned about the medicare surcharge as my salary is over the threshold-the surcharge only applies if your earnings are over the limit in any tax year, it's not based on your salary so as we've only been here for less than half of this tax year we didn't earn enough to put us over the threshold
