We only had tempory work on the Sunshine coast, and we've been here nearly 4 months now, so a good permanent opportunity has come up and we're going for it. The sunshine coast has been amazing, but more like a holiday for us. Tas was always where we were origionally going to settle, we're big foodies. LOVE all the local produce available, the slower pace of life, the climate, the wildlife, the bushwalks..... It really suits us better, and hopefully when we find somewhere to live, we can make some permanent roots. I'm a bit of a hermit too....so being rural has always suited me...lol

We trying the spirit of Tasmania for this time round, got to get car and dog over there too!! Kinda dreading it, but should have a nice drive down the East coast on our way...lol. We're finding it hard to find a rental where we need to be, so could be in for some big commutes till we find a home. Good luck with the flights, maybe catch you in Burnie one of these days, we only had a chance to explore Hobart, Lornie & half of the East coast so far....can't wait to go further afield. We haven't been but all my family have and they loved it so we are going to give it a really good go and we have to be prepared to get over the 1st year even if it's really hard . Duncan is a Diesel Fitter, basically he is a construction equipment mechanic specialising in excavators. He has applied with Caterpiller they have a depot in Burnie, Lonnie and Hobart so hopefully he can get in one of them, I'm praying for Burnie at the moment.;) Failing that there are many construction equipment hire companies in Tas and he's bound to get a job with one of them. We leave the country on the 24th too!! But we are heading for LA first for a well deserved break! Good luck with your move and maybe we'll bump into each other in Burnie!:eek: |

The wifey and kids have gotten rid of me at last. ;) Going to be hard leaving the family for a while as never been away from them. Wish we could have won some money on the lottery so they all could come but never mind, thems the breaks as they say. 24th Sept it is then.
