It's not a bad little camera at all - It's a 7.1 megapixel Olympus. It's always primed and at the ready to take piccies!

Well I hope you're doing something fun for the long weekend, and that the weather is lovely!! I'll just be pottering about home. :)

I'm very well, thank you - and I hope you and your's are!

Hi Julie, i'm the same - always got the camera about ready to take any pics! Good thing when you guys live somewhere so lovely - especially with the beaches (i just love the sea) - and the sunsets etc.
Haven't got too much planned for the weekend - like you we'll be pottering about at home most of the time probably, although we're visiting a friend on Sunday evening and will probably take the kids out somewhere for the day on the bank holiday Monday. Tomorrow morning will be spent getting the place immaculate again for the viewer - so fingerscrossed this one actually turns up! ;) As i'm not in work this afternoon/evening i'm going to try and get stuff like ironing / food-shopping all done today so that i dont have to worry about that this weekend!
Andy was thinking of doing a car-boot sale to get rid of some of the babystuff we dont need anymore now that Jared is much bigger - things like toys / babymonitors / steriliser / moses basket etc.. Need to start getting rid of all the stuff accumulating in the loft - and we want to do it before we get a buyer for the house if we can so that when the time comes we dont have too much to get rid of. Problem is we think the weather is meant to be changing - and it's predicted to be wet and windy come Sunday - so not sure if he fancies doing a car-boot in that kind of weather!

Its a shame as it's been quite nice for most of this week.

Hope you and everyone else on the thread has a great weekend!
(i'll probably post tomorrow as to whether our viewer turned up or not!)

take care
Cathy :)

Good luck with the viewer:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Have a nice weekend, hope Andy watches all of your stuff like a hawk if he does the car boot sale, otherwise the buggers might nick it like they did at ours:mad:

Although as you said I think Sunday supposed to be not so good in the weather, which is typical for a bank holiday weekend in the UK, isn't it?

The children's beds are being collected on Sunday morning, I sold the both on Ebay, probably could habe got more but someone offered me a Buy it Now price for both beds with a quick collection, so it saved a lot of hassle. I've still got a horse rug in the garage that I sold back in March to someone who was going to pick it up but has excuses all the time why they can't get here. They have paid for it, so I wouldn't re sell it but its a pain! I've done really well selling stuff on Ebay but it is quite a hassle.

Anyway, good luck again for the viewer, lets hope this is the one, you'll probably be there before us as it looks like our sale is becoming rather shaky!

Hi Sam. Has your buyer still not sorted out his mortgage properly yet? I'm keeping my fingerscrossed for you that everything turns out ok.... Dont be too despondent yet! It's too stressful all this selling business for people - i think people shouldnt be able to make offers until all their paperwork/mortgage offers/proof of cash etc etc has been sorted....would save a lot of hassle & stress for the sellers then..

I have already told Andy about what happened to your stuff at the last car-boot sale...:sneaky: and god where we are there's probably more thieving buggers about so he'll have to be careful unloading the car! He was moaning because he's only got one decorating table to use - but we have a collapsable picnic table he might lay stuff out on as well - otherwise he'll have to do what it says inthe name - ie, car-boot display!

That's good news about the kids beds being collected at the weekend - i have never tried to sell anything on Ebay - to be honest i've never really gone on there - although Andy is often on there looking at tools etc and all the blokey bits he likes! He's never bought anything off there though...
I'm not sure i could be bothered to post stuff to people - or like you wait for people to collect what they've bought. We dropped off more kids clothes etc at the charity shop on tuesday this week...although i saved a couple of bits that were virtually unworn as i might try to car-boot them at some point - there were two pairs of shoes of Jared's still with the price stickers on them :o

Anyway, i hope you haven't suffered from any migraines this week - and that you certainly dont have any at the weekend....
and if you get too stressed out - have a couple of drinks!:beer::beer:

take care
Cathy

Hi Cathy,

The wine consumption has certainly gone up recently, we always keep a very well stocked wine rack and over the last few weeks have not replaced any bottles we have drunk bu tnow we're down to the last few and with no date set for exchange or completion, might have to restock!

Our buyer is really messing us about, despite everyone being set for exchange for exchange today, his mortgage offer has still not arrived and he apparently has loads more questions about the access (we have a drwiveway which 2 other properties are entitled to drive over to get to their houses) BUT he has not told his solicitor his questions and has now disappeared for 2 weeks and is not contactable. Really not happy, poor EA got in the neck yesterday:sneaky:

Busy sorting out our study today, and then off to walk the dog before making a cake for when my daughter comes home from camp, she's been away all week and it has been very quiet (and peaceful!) as son has had no one to argue with:p

Hi Sam - sounds like you might have to re-stock the rack then! :D Especially before the in-laws arrive anyway :sneaky:
I'm really sorry your buyer is turning out to be an arse! Not fair really. Why people dont come up with these sort of queries & questions when they 1st view the house i dont know.

Hope your daughter has enjoyed her camp all week... at least they had good weather before the change this weekend!

Maybe the baking will help you relax this afternoon...all that mixing etc - a good stress releaser!

I've just been looking at rental properties on the Island on realestate.com.au - there seems to be quite a few new ones popping up in certain area's - some are lovely houses....:) Fingerscrossed they'll be some lovely ones left by the time we arrive!
I have noticed there seems to be quite a few 2bedroomed properties for rent on the Island as well....
I've wondered a few times whether we should possibly look at 2bedroomed places as a possibility for renting - it might be worth our while getting our two (who are young enough still) to share if we're only considering renting for 6months...as long as the rest of the living space was big enough for our needs and stuff when it arrived from the UK... there are some lovely 2 bed places about - some are actually a lot nicer than the bigger houses inside....
Still not sure i want the responsibility of a really big house that isn't actually ours.....

Anyway, i'll say bye for now...

take care - enjoy the rest of your day...

Hi Guys :) well - the viewers turned up yesterday....which makes a change i guess - but it doesnt look promising that we'll hear anything from them. They said they were having a look at what was on offer generally - so are no doubt viewing loads of houses.
I think in our area people are expecting more for their money than what they're actually going to get. People seem surprised that our house is just a normal 3-bed semi - and they're expecting to walk in and see either an extension or conversatory - neither of which we have - and if we did the house would be up for much more!
Andy even overheard the guy say to the woman as they were walking down our path "carry on looking i guess"

Feeling a bit despondent with it all now. Our contract ends on the 31st May with this agent - and we're going to take the house off the market for a couple of weeks before putting it back on with a different agent....

Starting to think we might still be stuck here come Christmas

Anyway, weather's rubbish today - been raining during the night and still is now..... Andy's car-boot sale is out of the window now!

Hope all you guys are having a good weekend....:)

take care

Just an update for some of you, (we had to leave Tasmania because of house not selling etc) Just got back from Tassie yesterday to Newcastle. Nearly missed our Melbourne flight as the Jetstar plane broke down. Got held up at Launceston but we managed to get a a flight 35 mins earlier but still too late to catch our flight. Jetstar staff were good and helped us as best they could. Not their fault the plane was late. But the people on the phone line at Emerates were really unhelpful and did not want to know. We were really panicking. Any way we got to Melbourne and the staff at the Emerates check in were fantastic and put us on the next flight no charge. Tip here, Jetstar do not take any responsiblity for missed flights. Leaving Melbourne on the 9.30 PM flight was actually better than the 7.30PM one. We managed to get our Dubai connection just. Back only a few hours and we had twisty people moaning. What a difference from the lovely Tassie people. But we knew this any way. Too much traffic though. Had to get used to driving manual again and stalled the car a few times. Noticed how people just walk into you again, no idea why this is so. Seen a lot of bad driving too. First day back, bloody hell !!!! Keep watching this space.

Hi Cathy

You never with the viewers, sometimes the one who play cool actually come back with an offer.

Know what you mean about the weather, its really depressing today:(

Hubby and I have had a few words already this weekend, I'm really fed up with not knowing about the house sale etc and I have also sat down and worked at how much everything is going to cost us from solicitors/estate agent fees to removals, flights, temporary accomodation, car et etc........
And scared myself silly:eek:
We haven't got any savings, as we spent that last year on our holiday to Oz, so everything will come out of the house sale and it goes down frighteningly quick, Angus says not to worry, we'll manage somehow but I've been looking at what we can now afford on Real Estate.com and its not good news:(
If the exchange rate improves, that would help but I'm not sure thats very likely.

Oh, blimey, I sound really depressing, don't I?

Lets hope the week brings some nicer weather, especially for the children off for half term and some good news for everyone:thumbsup:

Sam

Hi Lenmil.. Crikey - sounds like you had a stressful journey back to the UK! Glad you managed to sort out your flights ok though..
Sounds like some of the "good" points of life in the UK are standing out already! :D Traffic must be one that really stands out - alongwith people not being as friendly - for the most part i think us Brits are not a very friendly bunch when compared to people in other parts of the world...
On the plus side - it must be nice for you all to be back together again.
I hope you manage to get back to Tassie in the future.....
